Selfcontrol

What an excellent idea!

I so need this. Wonder if there’s something similar for PC.

Selfcontrol (for Mac OSX Leopard only) will block access to incoming and/or outgoing mail servers and websites for a predetermined period of time.

For example, you could block access to your email, facebook, and twitter for 90 minutes, but still have access to the rest of the web. Once started, it can not be undone by the application or by restarting the computer – you must wait for the timer to run out.

Backtesting

I’m looking for software that:
- is free or cheap (and, of course, very good :) )
- allows backtesting
- doesn’t require me to become a programmer

R. (hello!) recommended Amibroker awhile ago, but I don’t know AFL and don’t see myself learning this programming language any time soon. Though I appreciate Amibroker for its other features.

At the moment, I want this simple test:
buy or short a stock on a specific date + get a daily P&L report, to see the maximum drawdown.

Very simple, really.

Thank you in advance!!
